Susan Hwang

Susan Hwang is the Director of Advancement for the Rodel Institute. In this role, she leads the fund development strategy and serves as the point of contact for Rodel’s funding partners.

Susan has over 15 years of experience in growing philanthropic support at organizations working in education, public media and discourse, climate and global health.

Prior to joining Rodel, Susan led US national fundraising efforts for ClientEarth, an organization strengthening environmental laws in over 60 countries. Susan also held senior development positions at UCLA, Marketplace by American Public Media, the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, Facing History and Ourselves, and mothers2mothers.

Susan received her Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Iowa, and her B.A. from Scripps College. She has a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential.
